This study presents the first detailed experimental-based analysis of the formation of mid-channel bar in river. The dynamic process of erosion and sedimentation attributes to the formation of channel bars over a substantial period of time. Thus, the dynamicity of the process will bring about changes in the bed configurations and river profile. The point of interest in this study centres toward the initiation of the bar formation under constant flow and sediment discharge and the effects of bed and bank changes to its development. Investigation will focus on the formation of mid-channel bar with respect to flow and sediment discharge. Hydrodynamic force will be the determining factor of its stability.
